Four killed in Pakistan drone strike
At least four suspected militants were killed on Wednesday when a US drone fired two missiles at a house in Pakistan's northwest tribal area along the border with Afghanistan, a media report said.
The strike took place around 2 a.m. Two missiles were fired at a house suspected to be a militant hideout in Miranshah town of North Waziristan, Xinhua reported.
Several were injured in the strike, said local media. The identities of those killed and injured were not known immediately.
Wednesday's drone attack was the first of its kind in Pakistan this year. In 2011, a total of 63 strikes were reported in the country that led to the death of at least 543 people.
This was also the first drone strike since the NATO air strike on two Pakistani border posts Nov 26, which killed 24 Pakistani soldiers.
