Gaddafi's youngest son Khamis still alive?
Slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's youngest son Khamis, whose death was announced several times since the Libyan conflict erupted, is reportedly still alive, a defence ministry official said.
Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam, who was arrested by forces of the ruling National Transitional Council (NTC), has told officials that his younger brother Khamis was still alive, the ministry official told Xinhua.
NTC forces have located Khamis's whereabouts in Terhouna, 90 km southeast of Tripoli, and are expected to capture him soon, he said.
Saif, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of crimes against humanity, was arrested in Sebha in southern Libya Saturday. His confession also led to the capture of former intelligence chief Abdullah al-Senussi, another key figure of the Muammar Gaddafi regime.
NTC fighters had earlier claimed that Khamis died in Tripoli Aug 29, a report that was later 'confirmed' by a pro-Gaddafi Syrian TV station.
