More than 40 would-be brides, and some former ones got dolled up in white just for fun Sunday, joining a bridal parade being held for the first time in Brazil.

"I don't think there is any woman who doesn't like to put on a wedding dress," said Mara Bastos, 36, who said she would like to renew her vows with her husband in a chapel in the US city of Las Vegas.

Bastos joined the dizzying blur of makeup, hair and heels in an event here akin to ones that have been held in Portugal and Russia.

The participants had free expert hair and makeup, and some pictures shot at a famous park in Sao Paulo, Brazil's financial and industrial center and South America's largest city.

To cap it off, the women tossed bouquets of flowers to curious onlookers.
