Jobless Greek takes two people hostage
An elderly unemployed Greek took two people hostage while injuring three others inside a plastic factory in a northern Greek city Thursday, media reported.
The man wounded the manager, a Bulgarian worker and a policeman who had to be rushed to a hospital, Xinhua reported.
Greek television channels repoted citing police sources that the incident occurred in Komotini city when the 60-year-old gunman burst into the factory and started firing while shouting that he had been deceived.
Police negotiators were trying to convince him to surrender till last reported.
According to local media, the man is a father of two children. He was laid off eight months ago and the factory's owner who was his former employer at a subsidiary company, had assured him a job at the plastics installation.
