Lahore University official accused of sexual harassment
The public relations officer of a prominent university in Lahore has been accused of sexually harassing a woman student, a media report said.
Tabassum, the director of human resource of the King Edward Medical University, allegedly blackmailed a woman student and asked her to “spend some time” with him after the woman was reportedly found with a man in an objectionable position, officials told The Nation daily.
The university vice chancellor has constituted an inquiry into the incident. The officials said Tabassum sent many messages on the student’s cell phone and repeatedly called her to his office in the evenings. The woman went to his office and refused to agree to his demands. She also recorded his voice in her mobile phone. She later filed a complaint with higher officials.
