At least 48 dead in Mexico, Guatemala storms
Major storms that have ravaged Guatemala and southern Mexico over the weekend have killed a total of at least 48 people as flooding and mudslides sparked massive damage, officials said. In Mexico, floods killed at least three people and forced nearly half a million from their homes, state authorities said on Monday. Guatemala's overall death toll hit 45 on Sunday, as the impoverished Central American nation struggled through its worst rainy season in 60 years.
