Malaysia bans comics, book critical of govt
Malaysia has banned a book and two comics by a political cartoonist that were critical of the government, saying they were “undesirable” and could incite people to revolt.
The artist, Zulkifli Anwar Ulhaque, whose publications have highlighted issues such as Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim’s sodomy trial and police shootings, dismissed the allegations and vowed to continue drawing.

Greek minister escapes bomb hit, aide dies
Athens, June 25: Greece’s public order minister escaped injury after a bomb went off next to his office on Thursday, killing a close aide, the police said.
The bomb, a booby-trapped package disguised as a gift, exploded in the seventh-floor office of civil protection minister Michalis Chrysohoidis’ chief of staff, causing extensive damage. The minister was reportedly in his office at the time of the blast, but was not injured.

China jails Tibetan activist for 15 years
Beijing, June 25: A prominent Tibetan environmentalist who said he was “brutally tortured” in custody has been jailed for 15 years on tomb-robbing charges that were dropped years ago, his lawyer said on Friday.
Karma Samdrup, a 42-year-old art collector, went on trial this week in China’s far-western region of Xinjiang on charges brought in 1998 and later dropped after he bought artefacts that turned out to have been stolen. —AFP

Pak woman poisons her 4 kids to death
Islamabad, June 25: A Pakistani woman poisoned to death her four children after a family brawl in Lahore, police said on Friday, reports our Pakistan correspondent.
The woman also consumed poison and was said to be in a critical condition. Muneeza, wife of a policeman, Riazuddin, living in Liaquatabad area of Lahore, poisoned her four children, between four to nine years, before consuming poison herself after a family brawl, police said.
