Man dies saving dog's life in frozen lake
A man in Scotland fell through a frozen lake in East Dunbartonshire county while trying to rescue his dog who went into the water.
The man's body was recovered from the Gadloch, a fresh water lake situated at the edge of Lenzie town in East Dunbartonshire, following an extensive search involving divers and a police helicopter, the Daily Mail reported police as saying.
Police said investigations are continuing but they believe it was an accident and there were no suspicious circumstances.
The incident in central Scotland came as thermometers hit -5C in Eskdalemuir village,10 miles north-east of Lockerbie, on Saturday.
