Man held for hoarding child porn pictures

A 53-year-old man who hoarded more than a million child pornography pictures and videos has been arrested, Austrian authorities said on Friday.
The man, who has not been named, stored the material on eight hard drives, a personal computer, a laptop and DVDs, the Federal Criminal Investigations Bureau said.
“This is the largest number of pictures seized in Austria in the course of a single operation,” bureau official Ewald Ebner said in a statement. “Europe-wide, the number of seized pictures could also be unrivalled.” The bureau said the material — confiscated during a search of the man’s home — shows children under the age of 14, including babies, being sexually abused. Some of the scenes are violent, it said.
Spokesman Alexander Marakovits said the arrest happened in April but was not made public until now because it took time to carry out a probe and evaluate the seized data.

70 killed in Colombia mine blast
Amaga (Colombia) : About 70 miners were feared dead in a Colombian coal mine after a fiery explosion ripped through underground shafts overnight during a change of shifts, authorities said.
Dozens of relatives gathered outside, anxious for news of missing loved ones.
Only a single miner was found alive, with burns on 30 per cent of his body, civil defence chief Juan Carlos Posada said. The official said the deaths of 17 miners had been confirmed, and 11 bodies identified and removed from the site near the city of Medellin. “It’s difficult for there to be survivors, because the explosion produced high temperatures,” Mr Posada said, adding that the bodies recovered so far had been burned. A buildup of toxic gases hampered search and rescue efforts.
A team entered the mine last afternoon and were able to make it 180 meters inside, but the search was suspended at 5.30 pm local time to allow gas levels to dissipate, officials said.
At least 72 men were in the mine when the explosion hit during an 11 pm shift change on Wednesday.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
