Doctors discharged Nelson Mandela

Johannesburg, Jan. 28: Doctors discharged Mr Nelson Mandela from a hospital on Friday where he was treated for a respiratory condition, as officials said the former South African president had been laughing and joking with visitors.

“He has been discharged,” said Dr Vejaynand Ramlakan, one of the military doctors taking care of Mr Mandela, now aged 92.

An ambulance arrived at his home in Houghton here after his family had made arrangements for him to return.
