Now, a diamond-studded loo in Japan!
High-tech toilets have already created waves in Japan. Now, boffins have come up with a diamond-studded loo to please the ‘god of lavatories’.
A team at laboratory manufacturer INAX has produced the toilet, encrusted with over 72,000 pieces of Swarovski cut crystals and valued at US dollars 100,000, in collaboration with the Austrian jeweller.
The ornate fixture is currently on display at a showroom in the posh Ginza shopping district, the media reported.
"In Japan, we believe a deity exists in the lavatory. That's why keeping lavatories clean and taking good care of it have been a Japanese custom since long ago.
"If we were to sell it, it would probably be worth around 10 million yen," Kazuo Sumimiya, director of the showroom of which INAX is a part, was quoted as saying.
