Pak looks for 250 missing Hindu pilgrims

The Pakistani authorities are looking for over 250 pilgrims of the Hindu community who were trapped five days ago in the flooding of the Hingol river in Lasbela district, some 650 km southwest of Quetta city in troubled Balochistan province.

“The local administration and Abdus Sattar Edhi organisation are making efforts to rescue over 250 pilgrims of the Hindu community,” the Pakistani government official said.
Most of the pilgrims are from India, some from the United States and some from Pakistan itself.
Media reports said approximately 250 pilgrims, including women and children, went to Hinglaj area to pray and perform rituals at the Hinglaj Mata temple on Id day but were stuck there due to severe flooding of the river in the wake of torrential rains in the area.
“They face shortage of food items and drinking water as there is no route available for access to them or providing them food,” a government official said.
