Pakistan to prepare data on terrorists
Pakistan plans to have a consolidated data bank on terrorists.
This was discussed at a meeting of civilian and military law enforcement agencies. It was decided that the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) would create the data bank.
The Dawn said different government departments were maintaining data on terrorists for their own use and the information was fragmented due to the lack of a central authority.
The meeting approved the proposal to manage consolidated data on modern lines.
There will be separate databanks on Pakistanis and foreigners who are suspected or found involved in terrorist activities.
The meeting also discussed the setting up of a special anti-terrorism force.
