Passenger makes bomb hoax in flight

Istanbul: A bomb threat aboard a Turkish Airlines plane set off a security incident at the Istanbul airport.

A passenger tired to force his way into the cockpit after the flight from Oslo landed late Wednesday. He made a bomb threat, broadcaster CNN Turk reported.

The crew evacuated the 59 passengers, and police stormed the aircraft and overpowered the suspect.

There was no immediate official statement about the man's motives. One passenger told the broadcaster that the suspect spoke Turkish and demanded that the plane fly back to Oslo.
