On Pearl Harbour Day, American right wing target Obama kids' lunch
The United States, is on December 7, marking the 70th anniversary of the Pearl Harbour attacks - a bombing of America's Pacific fleet by Japanese bombers during World War 2.
But US right wing commentators are today targeting Barack Obama's two daughter Sasha and Malia and, surprisingly, their lunch menu on the anniversary.
Website Gawker focused on an opinion piece pulled out from the Drudge Report which reported that Obama's daughters were served a 'Japanese lunch' during the anniversary day.
Some of the items on menu included Asian Mushroom Soup, Oriental Noodle Salad, Classic Spinach Salad, Teriyaki Marinated, Chicken Strips and Szechuan Tofu & Veggies.
'Sidwell Friends School, Sasha and Malia Obama's School, Opts For Asian, including Japanese Food On Pearl Harbor Day,' read the headline when DC reached a website that was being quoted by the Drudge Report.
Many have dismissed the report saying the menu was 'pure coincidence' with Gawker even adding, 'US is not actually at war with Japan anymore'.
