Plane with 9 onboard missing in Bolivia
A commercial airplane with nine people on board has gone missing in northeastern Bolivia, amid fears that it might have crashed, aviation officials said on Wednesday.
The Aerocon airline plane was carrying seven passengers and two crew members on a flight from the eastern Bolivian city of Santa Cruz to Trinidad in the country's northeast.
Bolivia's La Razon daily newspaper reported that the plane was just 10 miles (16 kilometers) from Trinidad, a city of some 130,000 in the Bolivian Amazon basin some 600 kilometers (375 miles) northeast of La Paz, when air traffic controllers lost track of it.
"The plane just disappeared, and there is no news so far," an official from Aerocon's press office told the media.
