Plane evacuated at German airport in bomb scare
A Moscow-bound Aeroflot flight has been evacuated at Berlin's Schoenefeld airport after someone claimed there was a bomb aboard, a newspaper report said.
The Berliner Morgenpost quoted Federal Police spokesman Joerg Kunzendorf as saying today no explosives were immediately found on the plane after it was cleared of baggage and passengers.
Kunzendorf did not immediately return calls, and Berlin's airport authority directed all queries to him. Aeroflot did not answer its phones. The Morgenpost reports the plane was stopped from taking off by authorities after the German news agency DPA received a fax saying there was a bomb on board.
It says that the threat could have been an attempt to stop the deportation of 45 Vietnamese citizens, who were believed to be on board.
