Police in Tampa, Florida rolled out a tank as part of preparations to block an 'Occupy Tampa' rally.

An image on Twitter showed an armoured vehicle being prepped to meet the crowd in the city.

Hacking group Anonymous was behind the image leak, it has been reported.

Police action in various American cities has been condemned by activists claiming it borders on 'brutality'.

The Tampa move comes just days after protesters in the University of California campus were pepper sprayed by police.
