Prince Harry is set to become an Olympic patron, spearheading attempts to build on UK athletes' success in 2012.
After taking up the post, Harry will be involved in promoting the importance of supporting sports across the nation, as British competitors prepare for the next Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
With Britain having enjoyed unprecedented success in the London Games , Prince Harry is keen to be a 'driving force' to ensure the momentum is kept up, the Daily Express reports.
"Prince Harry is passionate about British sport and wants to do everything he can to ensure that we don't put the brakes on the next generation fulfilling their potential in four years time," the paper quoted a source, as saying.
"Harry will be involved in ensuring that investment remains in place and will champion the next generation in the run-up to Rio," the source added.
News of Prince Harry's role came after it recently emerged that the Duchess of Cambridge is being lined up for a role as vice-patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club at Wimbledon, the report added.
