Prison makes me fat, says Brit inmate
A jailbird has complained that prison food is making him fat - after being fed a diet of chips, pies and rice.
In a letter to lags' mag Inside Time this week, John Bowskill said he was desperate for some non-fatty food.
He added he was finding it difficult to breathe after piling on pounds with the 'high glycemic index' diet he is fed in HMP Dorchester.
Bowskill, formerly a personal trainer and nutritionist, moaned: "Do I have a right to stay fit and healthy whilst imprisoned, or are my wishes unreasonable?"
"Prison food needs to be cheap and easy to cook, so we cannot cater to individual preferences," a source told the Sun.
