Russia court jails Pussy Riot protest singers for two years
A Moscow court on Friday sentenced three female members of the Pussy Riot band to two years in prison for staging a 'punk prayer' protest against President Vladimir Putin in Russia's main church.
Judge Marina Syrova delivered her sentence after finding Maria Alyokhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Yekaterina Samutsevich guilty of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred for their February 21 performance.
