S. Korean freighter hijacked off Somalia
A South Korean cargo ship with 21 crew on board was hijacked by Somali pirates on Saturday, Seoul's Yonhap news agency said, quoting a diplomatic source.
The 10,000-ton vessel owned by Samho shipping, based in the Southern port city of Busan, was commandeered by the pirates in the Indian Ocean, the source said.
The ship was carrying eight South Koreans and 13 foreigners, the report said.
An official of the South Korean foreign ministry told AFP he was preparing a press statement on the incident but declined to give details.
