Scotland now aiming at full independence
Scotland’s first minister Alex Salmond, who returned to a five-year-term with a majority of 69 out of 129 seats in the Scottish Parliament in the May 5 election, now insists that Scotland will soon become an independent nation.
The Scottish National Party plans to table a bill on a referendum on the independence of Scotland in the Scottish Parliament in the later half of its five-year term.
Mr Salmond has, meanwhile, told his party’s annual conference that he will campaign for full independence, instead of getting more powers devolved from Westminster.
