Seven Pakistani soldiers ‘beheaded’ by Taliban militants
Seven Pakistani soldiers have been beheaded by Taliban militants close to the Afghan border, according to a report.
The soldiers were on patrol in the north-western district of Upper Dir.
According to the BBC, four other soldiers remain missing after the reported cross-border attack involving 100 heavily armed militants.
The Upper Dir skirmish has provoked new tensions between Islamabad and Kabul.
Islamabadhas often complained that militants use parts of Afghanistan as a sanctuary from which to stage attacks inside Pakistan.
According to the report, Pakistan Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said he would complain directly to Afghan President Hamid Karzai about the incident.
