SKorea confirms first 2010 swine flu death

Seoul: A South Korean man has died from swine flu, becoming the country's first reported human death from the virus this year, health officials said on Thursday.

The 30-year-old man began to show symptoms on Monday and test results showed he was infected with the A (H1N1) virus, said the Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

He was put into intensive care in hospital but died on Wednesday morning, it said.

Yonhap news agency said it was this year's first death from swine flu, which left more than 100 people dead in South Korea last year.
