‘Suspicious’ US treasure-hunter to search N. Arabian Sea depths to discover Osama’s body
Treasure-hunter Bill Warren of California has reportedly launched a search operation in the North Arabian Sea to discover the body of Osama bin Laden, as he does ‘not believe in the statement given by the US government’ that his body was buried at sea.
U.S. forces had earlier said that they had buried the former al-Qaeda leader in the North Arabian Sea with the help of the USS Carl Vinson warship, but Warren said that this was the only detail of the location that was released.
The veteran explorer launched the hunt because he believes President Barack Obama did not give enough proof of the terrorist’s death, the Daily Mail reports.
Warren insisted he will go ahead with the search despite the fact that the use of hi-tech equipment and several boats would make it an extremely expensive affair.
“We do this because we are patriotic Americans and feel that President Obama failed to provide the proof. I do not trust my government or Obama,” he added.
The Pentagon had earlier claimed that after killing bin Laden in his Abbottabad compound in Pakistan, his body was placed in a ‘weighted bag’ and tipped into the sea after performing religious rites according to Islamic norms.
