Taliban killed Benazir: Pak
Islamabad, Oct. 26: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was responsible for the murder of the former premier, Benazir Bhutto, says a probe carried out by the Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency.
The agency is likely to submit its report that the slain TTP chief, Baitullah Mehsud, was the mastermind behind Bhutto’s killing before an anti-terrorism court on October 30, the Dawn reported.
Bhutto was assassinated on December 27, 2007, after addressing a rally in Rawalpindi.
Sources said the agency had not been able to complete its investigation earlier due to three absconders — Abdur Rehman, Saddam and Faiz Mohammad — who it says were killed in a operation in tribal areas. The probe team did not question the then interior minister.
