Top hotelier chokes on own hotel food
A publicity-shy German hotelier worth a reported $740 million choked to death on a piece of meat in one of his luxury hotels, the Bild daily reported on Thursday.
Dieter Bock, 71, had ordered food in his room in Hamburg’s posh Atlantic Hotel, where scenes from the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies was filmed and which he part-owned, the paper said.
Bock died around two weeks ago but it has only now become known, Bild added.

Radioactive leak infects 6 in France
Saint-Etienne (France) : French nuclear safety authorities says six people have been contaminated by a leak of radioactive cobalt in a foundry. The Institute for Radioactivity Protection and Nuclear Safety says the six were brought to a hospital unit at a nuclear plant near the foundry in Feurs in France.
The incident occurred when workers were using a robot to retrieve material containing Cobalt-60 stuck in a machine used to test en-gineering structures. —AP

Three killed in China school wall collapse
Beijing : Three students were killed and 21 injured after an under-construction wall of a primary school collapsed in China.
The accident took place on Wednesday in southwest China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region when a group of students were attending classes in the campus, a local government spokesman said.
The under-construction wall suddenly collapsed, injuring more than 20 pupils, the spokesman said, adding that three of them succumbed to their injuries in hospital. —IANS
