Two Chinese officials executed for bribery
Two former vice mayors of China's Hangzhou and Suzhou cities were executed on Tuesday for bribery, the China Daily reported.
It said the Supreme People's Court approved the death sentence given to Xu Maiyong and Jiang Renjie.
Xu sought and accepted 145 million yuan ($22.2 million) in bribes and embezzled another 53.59 million yuan from a state-run property development firm.
Jiang took bribes, including 108 million yuan in cash, from property developers.
