UK woman who played bingo to 'get away from football' wins 1.3m pounds

A woman from the UK, who was fed up with her partner constantly watching football on television, has won 1.3 million pounds after playing bingo online to entertain herself.

Lisa Potter, 33, from Oxfordshire, said that she placed a 5-pound stake on the game due to boredown whilst her partner ignored her to watch every day of the Euro 2012 tournament.

And on her second spin with Ladbrokes bingo, she won the entire rollover jackpot.

"I had a spare minute and wanted to get away from the football so logged on. As soon as I saw the size of the jackpot I thought it was worth a go and couldn't believe my eyes when it said I'd won," the Telegraph quoted her as saying.

"I can't remember much after that as it's such a blur. My kids came into the room and we all started screaming together - it's like a madhouse in here," she said.

She now plans to spend the money on a new house and car, as well as taking partner Terry Goodman and her entire family on holiday.

"We're a normal family so this will change my life forever. The first thing we're going to do is buy a new house before treating ourselves," she said.

The Jackpot is the third highest win in the history of the game, with it being the biggest win paid for a game like this in over three years.

Ladbrokes have also reported an upturn of up to 400 percent of similar cases as women play bingo to entertain themselves during Euro 2012 matches.

"We're absolutely over the moon for her. It's one of the biggest wins of all time and we've sent the champers along to kick off the celebrations," Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said

"We bet she'll never moan at her man for watching the footy again!" she added.
