UN helicopter engaged in flood relief crashes in Pak

At least 10 people, including three foreigners, were injured on Friday when a UN helicopter engaged in flood relief operations crashed into a lake in Pakistan's southern Sindh province, officials said.

The helicopter went down into Manchar Lake due to a technical fault, Brig. Zubair Ahmed told the media. Geo News channel reported that three foreigners were among the injured. Ahmed said rescue teams had taken the crew and passengers of the helicopter to safety and provided them emergency medical aid.

Manchar Lake is Pakistan's largest freshwater lake and one of Asia's largest. It is located west of the Indus river in Dadu district and was in high flood late last month.
