Virginia Police on hunt for ‘serial butt slasher’ attacking women

Virginia Police are looking for a suspected ‘serial butt slasher’ after a spate of brazen attacks on young women in shopping stores.
In the most recent attack, an 18-year-old woman was slashed through her denim shorts with a box cutter or razor in the store on Monday evening, the Daily News quoted Police spokesperson Lucy Caldwell, as saying.
The attack mirrors four similar incidents taking place since February. All of the victims were women in their late teens or early twenties.
“He slashes them with a cutting knife or razor - across the buttocks,” Caldwell said.
Police are looking for a suspect caught on surveillance camera just after Monday's attack, described as a heavy Hispanic male, in his late twenties or early thirties.
A former FBI profiler Gregg McCrary said there is a danger the serial attacker could escalate the level of violence.
“The dangerous thing here is he's actually hurting women. He's already crossed that threshold into physical contact,” McCrary said.
