Zardari’s son Bilawal to contest next Pakistan election
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has announced that his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who is the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman, will contest the upcoming general elections from the party’s stronghold of Lyari in Sindh province.
Zardari made the announcement at a high-level meeting in Karachi.
According to the Nation, Zardari also informed the meeting that Bilawal would come to Pakistan in September.
Bilawal is expected to hold regular meetings to remain in contact with the people and elected representatives of Lyari.
He would also oversee the development projects and other matters related to the neighbourhood, which had remained a stronghold of the party since its inception in 1967.
