Beauty

On their mission to look pretty, young divas say that one doesn’t need layers of make-up to look gorgeous. They share their “make-up cheats” that your friends and teachers will never know.

Rayshita Sachdev,
student NIIFT, Chandigarh
I would use all sorts of make-up once back from school, but the drab look in school nearly killed my spirits. It’s then I made up my mind to keep the fashionista in me alive 24x7. I discovered an amazing undercover agent in the form of a concealer to hide my blemishes. I would experiment with a hint of jel-based blush to pep up my cheeks. And now in college, I am still praised for my “natural beauty”. Thank God, I had discovered this secret right at school level.

Tanya Narula, student, Pearl Academy of Fashion
Nude make-up is the perfect solution in order to look naturally pretty. It’s a perfect cheat as despite the use of make-up, it provides an innocent, peachy and a barely-there look. My funda is to have luscious and pouty lips paired with smoky eyes. The bottom line is to keep it simple and avoid the use of colours.

Priyanka Malhotra, student, Pearl Academy of Fashion
For me a brush transparent mascara for the eyes with and a foundation that is light in texture and transparent with a powdery finish complements my style. A nice combination of colours and touch-up makes me look attractive and charming and helps me keep myself original without much effort.

Lip balm is my best friend and I apply it every half an hour. And I have recently discovered how to make a perfect pout too. Just blend a bit of your old lipstick with the balm, and there you go. What a perfect and “natural” pout!

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
