Colleges gear up for Umang festival 2011
It is that time of the year again for students all over the country when they get an opportunity to showcase their talent and represent their college on a national level. The adrenaline is pumping, pressure running high, and soon cheer and applause will drown any other sound on the campus. One of Mumbai’s premiere education institutions, Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics is set to host its inter-collegiate festival — Umang 2011.
Around 250 colleges from across the country will participate in this festival, which is due to kick-start on August 14 and will go on till August 17. The festival will host around 75-80 competitions, which will be held over the span of these four days.
It will host popular competitions like War of the DJs, Pronights, Model hunt and Mr and Mrs Umang. Apart from these, the festival will also host unique competitions like UV Dance, where the participants will dance with florescent lights, and Pehel which will allow participants to pool in their ideas as concerned citizens and come up with solutions to the curb the socio economic crises that the country is facing today.
