Got my eyes on you!

Thrilling cricket, hot hook-ups, Bollywood’s glam brigade and scandals — the IPL offers us a lot of entertainment. But it also provides the ladies with some eye-candy in the form of some hot cricketers we can’t take our eyes off — on and off the field! As the IPL 4 auctions end, youngsters pick their hotties and cuties of the Indian Premier League.

For Leilah Hazarika, who’s pursuing her master’s degree in Sophia College, Daniel Vettori is ‘the’ hot one. “I’m a Delhi Daredevils supporter and he used to be in our team previously. It’s sad that he’s no longer with the team.” Vettori, she says, has the ‘family’ man kind of look. “He has these cutesy glasses on field and is the kind of guy you’d want to take home to your parents - he’s got that vibe to him. There are people who are sexy and eventually get married and their sexiness comes down. But it isn’t like that with Vettori. Even though he’s got a wife and a child, he’s still popular with the girls.”
For B.Com student Nikitha K, Rahul Dravid’s the good-looker amongst the Indian players. “He may not be that young, but he’s still as charming as ever. He’s handsome and really smart. Being an RCB fan, I would always love it when he would come to the field to play for the Bengaluru team. It’s sad that he won’t play for RCB this season,” she says.
Student Nidhi T. picks Kiwi cricketer Ross Taylor as the cutie. “I think he’s good-looking. I also like Irfan Pathan. I’ve always been a fan of his good looks and the fact that he’s so simple adds to his cuteness quotient,” she says. Brett Lee is another player she find super hot. “OMG. I love Brett Lee! He’s tall, handsome and his dimples are to die for! He’s such a hottie!” she laughs.
For student Madhuri S, Virat Kohli and JP Duminy are the perfect eye-candy. “I know a lot of people who find Kohli ‘hot’, but for me, he’s the ‘cutie’. His behaviour is not something I’m a fan of, but when it comes to looks, he clinches the title of ‘the best cutie,” she says.
As for Duminy, Madhuri says, “I have a thing for bald men! (laughs). And Duminy’s one of them. I think he looks really hot,” she says of the South African cricketer, who will play for Deccan Chargers this season.
Good cricket is what IPL buffs want to see this season, but hey, a little eye-candy doesn’t hurt either!

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
