The land of fire and ice
Star World decided to have a marathon of Castle on January 1 and while most of you were sleeping off an insane party, I was up at noon watching the marathon. Even I would have to admit that it would have been depressing if I sat to watch the entire marathon on New Year’s Eve gossip! So I watched a couple of episodes during the day
and it’s a fun show but I would recommend that you watch this show only when the numerous other shows you watch are not airing (that’s what I did). Nathan Fillion as Rick Castle is extremely enjoyable and in case you were wondering where you had seen him before and if you have not ‘imdb’-ed him yet, he’s the guy from that one season of Desperate Housewives. I really dig the pilot episode, which gave an interesting opening to the show; I especially dig how Castle manages to get permission from the Mayor to tag along with homicide investigation team.
I also think that the investigation team led by Kate Beckett is hilarious, the writers of the show have managed to keep the show light with characters such as ‘Espesito’, ‘Ryan’ and ‘Martha Rodgers’— Castle’s mum, while having a good storyline especially with the mysterious murder of Beckett’s mother. The chemistry between Beckett and Castle is sizzling but I ditch the fact the writers are teasing their viewers by keeping us waiting for more. I managed to watch a couple of episodes of season two with my friend the other day and it continues to have a good plot, but don’t watch the show at a stretch because you would find yourself on Youtube out of boredom.
