The mistress of cuisines
When I asked my 20-something cousin why he watches Nigella Express, he says, “I don't know what she says half the time, I just like watching her.” Google or Youtube Nigella and most of the comments posted are along the same lines.
Nigella Lawson has been an integral part of Travel and Living Channel since its early days, with Nigella Bake leading to the currently running Nigella Express. This show is like her previous one — an easy and creative outlook on cooking. Her calm and relaxed approach to cooking, as well as her simple elegance makes her show unique. There seems to be no need for her to travel around the world or indulge in any sort of crazy gimmicks to gain the audience’s attention. Her passion for cooking is evident and her talent is remarkable. This show is all about creating food with a touch of elegance. In an episode, she mentions how her son’s comment “KFC is good” was one of the main reasons she wanted to do this show. In another episode, she makes cherry cheesecake and narrates a funny incident as to how baking that very same cake got her suspended from school.
Since I am not very fond of cleaning up after cooking, I’m trying hard to convince my mum to bake the cheesecake. To my dismay, she is far from convinced. The show is a classic and I absolutely dig it. To all those foodies out there, I recommend you to grab a pen and notepad when you are watching this show because you are bound to be tempted to write down a recipe or two.
