Accused seek bail in case of morphing RJ on sites
The third accused in the defamation case in which a merchant navy officer and his friends allegedly spread obscene pictures of his former girlfriend working as a radio jockey abroad, sought anticipatory bail on Wednesday to avoid immediate arrest.
Shibin, who works in Dubai was the one who sent the pictures to the chairman and other colleagues of the RJ, according to the police.
The North police was earlier trying to bring Shibin from Dubai to Kochi and arrest him. Earlier the police had arrested one Ashwin, 25, of Kuzhalm-andham in Palakkad and Gayathri, 26, of Petta in Thiruvananthapuram in the case. The two are out on bail now.
The case was registered on the basis of a complaint registered by the mother of the victim.
“Ashwin had declined the request to marry her. After this, the victim left for Dubai and worked as a radio jockey there.
Over a fight, Ashwin sent the secret photographs to Gayathri, who in turn forwarded it to her friend Shibin.
It was Shibin who sent the pictures via e-mail to the employees of the company using a fake ID. Personal grudge is believed to be the reason behind the incident,” the police said.
