Airport-seaport land acquisition deadline
Work on phase-II of seaport-airport road will finally be hastened with strict directions being handed out to complete land acquisition for the project before May 24.
“An additional three surveyors were appointed Saturday and they will start the work in this regard on Monday,” an official who attended a meet at Collector’s camp office said.
It was also decided at the meeting to start the work of straightening the accident-prone Poojarivalavu area on the Kalamassery-Kakkanad stretch.
“Land acquisition is being completed at two advanced positions for this purpose,” the official aid.
The second phase of the project would connect Kalamassery HMT junction and Airport VIP Road with a 14.4-km stretch, expected to reduce traffic snarl on NH-47 and other roads around the city.
The state had last month allotted `46.7 crore to the Roads and Bridges Development Corporation (RBDC) in the state, which has undertaken the project.
