Artists reach out to prevent suicides

Maithri, an NGO engaged in the task of preventing suicides, is organising a Soorya monsoon festival in Kochi, from June 12 to 14.

It is a novel attempt to spread the message that suicides should be prevented in every possible way.

Renowned artistes including vocalist and composer Ramesh Narayan and danseuse Lavanya Ananth will deliver their messages on suicide-prevention, along with their performances.

“Maithri is joining hands with Soorya festival as part of its suicide-prevention campaign.

This is the first time that Maithri is associating with Soorya Krishnamurthy. “Our mission is ‘suicide prevention with people’s participation,” said Adv Rajesh R.Pillai, administrator of Maithri.
