CBI produces Arora directors before court
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday, produced before the Ernakulam CBI special court, the two directors of the Delhi-based private company, who were arrested in connection with the widening work of the runway at the Karipur International Airport.
The court remanded Madhu Nair in CBI custody for two days and Arora for 14 days. B.R. Arora and M.P. Madhu Nair, directors of Arora Associates in New Delhi, were given the contract for constructing the runway.
The CBI had found that Rs 53,06, 578, had been misappropriated by the duo and senior managers by using fake invoices.
The CBI had arraigned former senior airport manager Prakash Kachnger, former senior assistant N.Sreedhar, former assistant manager Bino Baby and Arora and Associates as accused parties in the case.
The Airports Authority of India had awarded the work to Arora and Associates on January 19, 2007. The amount earmarked for the work was Rs 17.32 crore.
