‘C.H. Asokan threatened TPC’
The state government on Wednesday submitted before the Kerala high court that TPC murder-accused CPM leaders C.H. Asokan and K.K. Krishnan had threatened to finish off the slain RMP leader, in their public speeches.
The state informed the court that the two had announced in public that Chandrasekharan's skull will be hacked and his brain crushed to bits.
'These leaders did as they threatened, advocate-general K.P. Dandapani told the court. The deceased was inflicted 54 wounds, and his face was bludgeoned repeatedly, he said.
The AG said the two, who was seeking bail now, had played an active role in the conspiracy behind the murder.” Pursuant to the court order, the AG submitted the case diary and the court reserved the case for orders.
The AG also submitted that the special branch of the police Intelligence wing had reported that there was a threat to the life of Chandrasekharan and fellow RMP leader N. Venu.
He produced the depositions of various witnesses including TP's wife Rema to prove the conspiracy behind the murder. M.K. Damodaran, appearing for the CPM leaders, opposed the state’s arguments.
The state had nothing to show on record and the submissions of the witnesses were not sufficient to prove the conspiracy theory, he argued.
He also said that even after two months, the prosecution has failed to unearth the date and the location where the so-called conspiracy was hatched.
According to AG, seven crimes have been registered so far against CPM leaders for threatening the police officials probing the case.
