City IT hub cut off after dusk

Lack of adequate public transport at night to Infopark at Kakkanad, the IT hub of Kochi, has forced hundreds of employees commuting to the centre to opt for own transport or autos.

As per the RTO register, 80 private buses and 20 KSRTC buses are running in the route. But after 8 pm only one bus plies on the route from Edachira- Fort Kochi through Infopark. As a result, the techies mostly dependent auto rickshaws, which fleece them.

“If KSRTC cares to operate some services in the night, we can save a lot on our travelling expenses,” said Anu Thobias, an employee with the Infopark .“Shortage of staff has resulted in curtailment of bus services. We will take up the matter soon and rectify the complaints,” said a top official of the KSRTC
