Clip on AIE ‘hijack drama’ goes viral
The video shot by a passenger on the drama involving passengers, police officials and crew of the Kochi-bound Air India Express flight from Abu Dhabi at Thiruvananthapuram airport on October 19 has gone viral with nearly 1.50 lakh netizens viewing it in different video sharing networks.
Over 1.25 lakh have viewed it on Youtube so far while close to 20,000 have seen it on Yuvog, the first Kerala-based video hosting website. It seems the majority of the viewers belonged to the Malayali diaspora in the Gulf and their relatives who were eager to know the facts about the incidents which landed six passengers in trouble.
The pilot pressed the hijack button giving a new dimension to the protÂÂest by the passengers.
The video has been shot by the passenger with his mobile just in front of the scene of the fracas and violating videography ban on flights. The 10-minute video shows police trying to forcibly remove protesting passengers and the latter shouting ‘police go back’ and ‘end police goonda raj’ slogans.
The ire of the Non-Resident Keralites on this episode and also against the negligent attitude of AIE towards the passengers from the Gulf, has found its way to social networking sites like Facebook as well
