Comrades accused in Fasal case face arrest
The Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate on Thursday issued non-bailable arrest warrants against CPI(M) Kannur district secretariat member Karai Rajan and Thiruvangad local committee member Karai Chandrasekharan, the seventh and eighth accused respectively in the NDF activist Fasal murder
case.
The magistrate, Mr P. Sasidharan, also issued a production warrant for M.K. Sunil Kumar alias Kodi Suni, the prime accused in Fasal murder case, who is now in custody for the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder.
The court asked CBI to produce the accused on July 5.
The CBI applied for the warrants as the two CPI(M) local leaders have been absconding. The CBI argued that the duo hatched the murder plot against Fasal after he deserted CPI(M) and joined NDF.
They engaged criminals, also party sympathisers, to execute the murder. Fasal was murdered on October 23, 2006.
Karai Rajan is also a suspect in the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case. The CBI had arraigned eight in the Fasal murder case.
