Dengue situation not alarming: DMO
District medical officer Dr R. Sudhakaran said on Friday that there was no cause for alarm due to diseases in the district including contagious ones.
He asked residents to keep their surroundings clean to keep dengue fever at bay.
“Residents should make sure that there is no place for mosquitoes to breed in their surroundings; this is essential to rule out dengue fever, which is rearing its head in certain parts of the district during the summer showers,” he said.
The DMO said four cases of dengue fever were reported from different parts of the district on Thursday and 6 on Friday. The places include Kothamangalam and Koothattukulam.
He said that there was no need to panic about the incidence of Hepatitis-B which spreads through blood.
A total of three cases have been reported so far from Vazhakkulam, Malippuram and Mazhuvannoor. He said that there was no cause of concern regarding viral fevers also.
