DTPC Onam celebrations to begin tomorrow

The Onam celebrations of the district administration and the district tourism promotion council will commence in the city on Saturday.

The five-day-long festival titled “Lavanyam-2012”, will begin with a grand procession, followed by the official inauguration by chief minister Oommen Chandy, at Marine Drive. Music director Bijibal’s band, ‘Down to Earth’ will perform during the inaugural session.

The next few days will witness several cultural programmes and seminars being organised at three different venues – Durbar hall, Marine Drive and Museum of Art and Kerala History at Kalamassery.
