Filmmakers protest Love Jihad slur in social media
The much-debated 'Love Jihad' campaign appears to have turned against two films in the state with anonymous posters urging Keralites to be cautious.
The targets have been Thattathin Marayathu and Usthad Hotel running successfully in theatres.
Film crew have already raised their voices against branding films under the ‘Love Jihad’ category.
"I noticed a photo on Facebook uploaded by a friend of mine in which a Love Jihad post was pasted in the Ustad Hotel poster. The trend is disturbing," said Shaan Rahman, music director of Thattathin Marayathu.
"It's quite unfortunate that some people are not even sparing films from their stupid ideas," he added.
The anonymous posters are doing their rounds not just in the social media. Across the city and even right in front of Kerala High Court, posters urging people to be careful about love jihad have also been pasted alongside posters of these two films.
Anjali Menon, scriptwriter of Ustad Hotel, says, “Those who have pasted these posters have obviously not seen the film."
