George lashes whip at UDF ministers on Facebook
Maverick legislator and UDF chief whip P.C. George has begun taking on his opponents, both in the ruling front and in the Opposition, through the social media platform. He has joined Facebook and also got into blogging.
Joining Facebook last week, he is using the platform to counter the claims of some the Congress MLAs who are opposing his styles.
“Now I feel it’s a must to be with you online. To share my political views, for creative communication with my critics and my supporters … the truth, uncut and unconcerned,” says his FB post.
He criticised some of those in the UDF, comparing them with the myth of Yayati. Without naming anyone, George said some were trying to promote themselves as youngsters, by colouring their hair, and were using costly cosmetics to project themselves as being youthful.
These persons with some mala fide intentions were joining hands with youngsters like Thrithala MLA V.T. Balram and Ernakulam MLA Hibi Eden, he said.
With this, the online war took a new turn, and Balram updated his Facebook status, saying, “Youthfulness is a state of mind” (Yuvathvam oru sarrerika avasthayalla. Oru manasikavastha anu).
George also posted a separate post on his page questioning whether some of the UDF ministers and UDF leaders were getting paid by CPM leader Pinarayi Vijayan.
